Fun Sock 01 Finished!

One down, one to go. I've finished the first Meilenweit Fun Sock and cast on for the second.

Meilenweit Fun Sock 01

I haven't blocked it yet, but you can get an idea of what it looks like. I'm not super excited about the striping that happened near the toe, but I can live with it. I also noticed little holes where I picked up the stiches along the heel after turning it and I couldn't figure out why that was happening. Thanks to Spinnity's help, I learned that even though the pattern says "pick up x stitches along the heel..." that I should have picked up and knit the stitches.

I didn't have my tape measure when I was doing the foot of the sock, so I made it a little too long. Luckily my sister has slightly larger feet then I, so she'll get the socks!

Much Ado About Nothing

A group of us from the Santa Clara County Knitting Meetup are going to go watch Free Shakespear in the Park's Much Ado About Nothing tomorrow. My knitting buddy Rebecca is the Artistic Associate for SF Shakes and said she would set out a tarp and a couple of chairs for us. We're going to bring snacks and picnic as well.

If you're in the area and want to join us here are the details:

Date: Sunday, July 17, 2005
Time: The show starts at 7:30pm, we'll be there as early as 6:30pm
Location: Memorial Park Amphitheater, Cupertino
Other info: Bringing picnic food, a blanket and knitting
Event URL: http://www.sfshakes.org/park/

I hope to see you there!

Fun Socks Update

I've made some progress on the Meilenweit Fun Socks.

Fun Socks in Progress

I took this photo about a week ago so I've gotten a bit more done since then. I'm almost at the toe decrease. Then I'll just have the other sock to do!

Where's My Spindle?

This article from Knitter's Review makes me want to pick-up my spindle and try spinning again. I just need to find it. I haven't seen it since the move, but I know it's in one of the boxes in my "yarn/knitting/sewing" room. I guess I'm just going to have to finish unpacking and setting that room up so I can find it.

Kittens Like Yarn

So I know writing about kittens isn't exactly knitting content. But they like yarn so it's sorta relevant, right?

We got 2 adorable kittens at the Humane Society last night. Visit my family blog - Nyquist - for photos and more details. Plus, we need help with names!
