Blaze

I just came across this super cute sweater pattern on Knitty called Blaze (by Jenna Adorno). Now the only problem is that the pattern uses Indulgence yarn (7.5 stitches per 1 inch), which I have, but it's 70% alpaca and I'm allergic to Alpaca. I need to find a yarn substitute that will still look as good and work with the pattern. Any suggestions?

Cute sweater!

Re: subbing yarns, I think what you want is a worsted weight yarn that knits up to 5 st/inch in st st (which is what Indulgence knits up to according to the Cascade site), that will knit up to 7.5 in pattern stitch. So lamb's pride worsted, araucania nature wool, cascade 220, db cashmerino aran (I think),... those are just the ones off the top of my head! If you go w/ cotton rather than wool, I'd suggest a cotton blend since it'll be lighter in weight that 100% cotton -- it might help keep the sweater from "growing" too much.

How fun! Good luck!

Thanks for the yarn suggestions! The db cashmerino aran sounds yummy. I'll have to check-it out.
